Focus on What God Wants to Do Today

Today at the World Apostolic Congress of Mercy (WACOM) 2026 in Vilnius, we were strongly challenged not to dwell on mediocrity or on what no longer works, but to focus on what God wants to do today.
Evangelism Begins with Trust
Nicky Gumbel and Fr. James Mallon emphasized that true evangelism starts with a deep trust that people do not live on bread alone. Instead of responding with “Yes, but that doesn’t work for us,” we were invited to honestly acknowledge the spiritual battle while looking forward with hope and expectation.
From Sheep to Fish
Alpha does not focus first on the sheep already inside the church, but on the fish — the people still outside who are searching for meaning. Friends invite friends, and through these existing relationships, God draws people to Himself.
Unity Comes Through Shared Action
Unity is not created by endlessly talking about unity, but by rolling up our sleeves and doing evangelism together. Fr. James Mallon encouraged us to build with the fragments that are already there and to start with what we have now.
Missionary Leadership Requires Boldness
Missionary leadership means recognising those who are called by the Spirit and stepping out in confidence, convinced that God Himself is the one drawing people to Him.
