A Dutch Pilgrimage to Riga’s Timeless Maria Magdalena Church

In 2016, a diverse group from the Bom­me­ler­waard parish in the Netherlands embarked on an enriching exchange journey. Sixteen participants boarded a two-hour flight from Eindhoven Airport to one of Europe's most enchan­ting cities: Riga, Latvia, for a five-day educational and ecumenical adventure. Primarily Catholic, the group also included two Pro­tes­tants, foste­ring open dialogues on faith, personal stories, and everyday life.

Today, I checked into the House of Beth­le­hem, a Catholic care project that helps people struggling with addiction to rein­te­grate into normal life. I had an inspi­ring mee­ting with Anne, the coordinator of the house, and Artis, a former alcoholic and gambling addict who has overcome his addiction.

A Week of Mission and Connection in Latvia

Recently, a small group of missionaries from the Catholic lay organization Kasih House of Mission embarked on an inspi­ring journey to Latvia. Represen­ting diverse backgrounds—Lavinja from Malaysia, Anya from Poland, Tomas from Slovakia, and Olga from Latvia—we set out from our base in Slovakia to share faith, hope, and love with communities across this beautiful country.
